Description
Damiana, Turnera diffusa, is a small shrub native to Mexico, Central America and parts of South America. Traditionally, its dried leaves have been used for a variety of purposes: as a tonic, stimulant, aphrodisiac (especially for sexual desire), diuretic, and more. Typical traditional use brewed as a tea/infusion from the shredded leaf, or taken as a powder in capsules. The leaves are also smoked.
Tea preparation:
Use one or two whole flowers per person, or approximately 5-10 grams of shredded shredded Damiana. Pour hot water over the plant matter and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain before drinking. A small amount of natural sweetener can be added if desired.
Smoking blend:
Damiana can be smoked on its own or combined with other herbs. Experiences vary, with some users reporting mild warming, relaxing and aphrodesiac effects.
Shredded herb or Powdered herb – 100 gram
Start with a modest dose, monitor how you feel, and avoid use if pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you have hormone-sensitive disease or unstable blood sugar.
