This cacao is organically grown in the lush jungles of Cusco. It comes from the rare Chuncho variety, a native Peruvian cacao known for its remarkably small beans and delicate, smooth, and fruity flavor. Each bean is hand-selected and minimally processed, with great care at every stage. The refined taste of this cacao shines brightest in a foamy hot chocolate, revealing its fruity brightness and warm aromatic notes.

The knowledge of cacao cultivation has been passed down through generations. The family farm is located in the Quelloúno Valley, a richly biodiverse region teeming with trees, plants, birds, and wildlife such as blue macaws, armadillos, squirrels, and monkeys. Bordering protected natural parks, the cacao here is grown with deep respect for the environment and in harmony with nature.

A fun fact: even within the Chuncho variety, subtle differences exist. Locally, these beans are affectionately called “señoritas” due to their particularly small size—smaller even than other Chuncho types. This cacao was first cultivated centuries ago by the Indigenous Machiguenga people of Peru.

  • Add spices like cinnamon, ginger and cayenne or blend it with dates for a naturally sweet and spiced variation.

  • For the best creamy texture, blend for 5 seconds with a milk frother or blender to create a beautiful, foamy finish.
