Mitragyna Speciosa, commonly known as Kratom, is a plant from the Coffee family(Rubiaceae). It has both stimulating and sedative(relaxing) properties. White veined kratom tends to be a little more energizing, Red veined more sedative, Green veined somewhere in between. However the most important factor, as with most substances, is the dosage. More stimulating up to around two grams, more and more sedative above two grams. Works better on an empty stomach, and differs a lot per person. Always start with a low dose and work your way from there.
