Description

Sporeprints are for cultivators and collectors, produced under laboratory conditions and free from contamination. Perfect for microscopy, research, or starting your own cultivation from scratch. With proper research and sterile technique, it can be used to create spore syringes or start cultivating your own Psilocybe Cubensis McKennaii.

McKennaii spores are known for producing one of the most potent Psilocybe Cubensis strains. Said to be named after Terence McKenna, the legendary psychedelic advocate, this variety is known for its intense visuals, strong body high, and deeply mystical trip experiences. The mushrooms often grow in dense clusters, with flat, rounded, or spade-shaped caps.

Always do thorough research and read your local regulations before use.

Can be stored for up to two years in a dry, clean, dark and cool place.

How to Grow Mushrooms from Sporeprint

Growing your own mushrooms can be a rewarding process that requires care, patience, and above all; sterile work conditions and materials.

What You Need

  • Sporeprint

  • Sterile syringe and distilled water (for syringe method)

  • Sterile agar plates and scalpel (for agar method)

  • Substrate (e.g. rye, brown rice)

  • Jars or grow bags

  • Pressure cooker or autoclave

  • Still air box or flow hood

  • Gloves, alcohol spray, face mask

1. Prepare the Substrate

  1. Fill jars or bags with hydrated grain

  2. Sterilize at 15 PSI in a pressure cooker for 90–120 minutes

  3. Let cool completely in a sterile environment

Choose your preferred method:

2A. Spore Syringe Method

  1. Sterilize water, let it cool, and pour into a clean glass

  2. In a sterile space, scrape a small amount of spores into the water

  3. Draw the spore solution into a sterile syringe

  4. Inoculate sterilized grain jars by injecting the solution

  5. Store at 20–25°C in the dark for about 1–3 weeks until colonized

2B. Agar Plate Method

  1. Open sterile agar plates in a clean workspace

  2. Scrape a small amount of spores onto the surface of the agar

  3. Close and seal the plate (with parafilm or tape)

  4. Incubate at 20–25°C and monitor for mycelium growth

  5. Once clean mycelium appears, transfer a small section to fresh agar or sterilized grain

3. Fruiting and Harvesting

  • When the substrate is fully colonized, transfer to a fruiting chamber

  • Keep humidity high (85–95%) and allow indirect light and airflow

  • Mushrooms should begin forming within 1 to 2 weeks

  • Harvest by gently twisting and pulling just before the veil breaks

Tips:
  • Dried mushrooms can be stored up to 2 years in a cool, dry, dark place
  • Research each step thoroughly
  • Pick your favourite mushroom from harvest to make a new sporeprint
